About
Kapisanan Philippine Centre for Arts & Culture is a multiple award-winning, youth-led, charitable community organization based in Toronto. We create a brave space for Filipino-Canadian youth, both second generation and newcomers, to overcome multiple barriers that prevent them from meaningful engagement in society. At Kapisanan, youth activate their creativity to explore identity, fostering pride and self-confidence, inspiring and empowering them to realize their full potential.
Mission
Kapisanan Philippine Centre for Arts and Culture is a grassroots organization in Toronto/Tkaronto that uses arts and culture as a way of critically engaging Filipino/a/x youth and their meaningful role in society. Acknowledging our presence on Turtle Island as racialized settlers and our histories as colonized peoples, we ground our work in the values of decolonization. Kapisanan supports the professional and artistic growth of Filipino/a/x youth through the provision of art programming, mentorship, and leadership development.
Vision
Kapisanan Philippine Centre for Arts and Culture is committed to the development of creative leaders of Filipino descent who work for equity and sustainability in the country known as Canada /Turtle Island and beyond.
