CLUTCH and NAVIGATION were Kapisanan’s flagship leadership programs. CLUTCH and NAVIGATION or “NAV” were 6-month concurrent, arts-based, cultural immersion programs for Filipino youth, ages 17 to 24 years. CLUTCH and NAV were gender-specific, collaborative programs that empowered Filipino youth with a sense of who they are, where they come from, and why their voice matters. These programs enabled participants to start a dialogue with each other through the arts, receive mentorship from professional artists within the community, have access to professional tools to hone their creativity, define their identity, and explore their cultural heritage.
