About the Vinta Gallery

The vinta is a vessel used to transport goods from island to island and recognized for
its attractive sail adorned with textile design indigenous to Southern Philippines. This
vibrant iconograph of Filipino culture embodies the idea of the migrating and trading of valuables.

Never before has Canada produced a more enriched, artistic representation of the
Filipino-Canadian experience. The Vinta Gallery is where we showcase and sell the
works of our community’s finest in multi-media arts. The commodity is the art and the
stories they tell.

We welcome literary arts, theatre, performance and installation art, graphic design,
fashion arts, jewelry design, film/video, new media and photography. On occasion, we
may feature Jodee in a display case.
