Poetry is our Second Language (PSL for short) is about to start, and what better way to kick it off than to get inspiration from a PSL graduate? Christine Balmes was part of the PSL class of 2009. And wow, a lot of amazing things has happened since then.

Reasons why you should know who Nina Lee Aquino is

Just less than a month ago, one deserving lady finally received a Dora: and that’s Filipino-Canadian director, dramaturge and playwright Nina Lee Aquino.

First off, let’s set one thing straight. For us who are not-so-familiar with the lingo, the Dora Mavor Moore Award is basically the Tony Awards version of Canada. Still not ringing a bell? The Doras are the Canadian version of the Oscars, but for theatre. If you need more explanation, there’s always Google!
